Let the medicine soothe your nerves and alter your moods, feel the melancholy overwhelm your distraught mental capacity. Calm yourself at a price as they must mettle to find such a fix. Excitement on this plain of existence is fleeting, as will the smiles that don't feel forced. Hurry up and find the magic tonic so we can ask ourselves "How do I feel?" Over the hill, through the woods, where my hollow self sits. In 6 weeks time I might know if I’m fixed. So have all the candy girls and boys the doctors are at play.

Being heavily medicated at one point , 5 different meds, I felt like a hollow, husk of myself. I could be content, well a feeling of sedation. Any other emotion had to be very strong for me not to have to force myself to feel it; I had to force myself to care. My kids were doing well at something, no excitement merely smiled because I knew it was expected. Feeling beyond neutral was difficult. It was like a graduated cylinder except you couldn't see into the cylinder with liquid being poured in. Sometimes fast, moderate, painstakingly slow, everything was fine until the liquid began to overflow. Every appointment I was asked “how do I feel?” Numb. I felt numb.
